A New Opportunity for Technology Cooperation
With technology advancing at a rapid pace around the world, collaboration between organizations has become an important force in driving innovation. Oracle, a major player in the tech space, announced a major initiative on Monday to integrate AT&T's IoT connectivity and networking APIs into its Enterprise Communications Platform (ECP). This collaboration will open up new opportunities for IoT growth in the enterprise and a new chapter in reliable, secure communications.
Benefits of the Partnership
The integration will enable Oracle's industry cloud application customers to connect and manage IoT devices on AT&T's network on a single platform. With integrated features such as IoT Edge Application Management, this all-in-one offering greatly reduces the burden on customers to manage complex integrations and network contracts.
Built on the high performance and security of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), the Unified Communications and Edge Architecture gives organizations the connectivity and real-time data intelligence they need to powerfully support critical new services and experiences. Integration with AT&T IoT connectivity and web APIs is currently available in the OCI region of the United States.

Broad Application Scenarios
AT&T-enabled ECP lays the foundation for new industry applications, covering a broad range from the consumer space to industrial enterprises. It provides high-performance, reliable connectivity that enables innovation and new services. Examples include turnkey, communications-enabled restaurant operations that enhance restaurant management efficiency and customer experience; automated utility grid management that improves grid stability and reliability; and rich telemedicine capabilities that provide patients with easier access to healthcare.
Taking the FirstNet (U.S. Public Safety Network) and ECP jointly built with AT&T as an example, it provides the foundation for the Oracle Public Safety Suite, helping to provide secure communications, key components such as dispatch command centers and near-real-time camera feeds for first responders, which greatly improves the level of public safety protection.
Significance and Outlook of Cooperation
Andrew Morawski, executive vice president and general manager of Oracle Communications, said their mission has always been to help improve the way the world communicates, and with the help of AT&T and FirstNet-powered ECPs, it's a big step toward that vision. By building a new generation of vertical applications together, there are endless opportunities for innovation that can help organizations across industries realize the full potential of 5G.
Sarita Rao, senior vice president of AT&T Partner Solutions, emphasized AT&T's commitment to empowering ecosystem partners to build solutions that integrate AT&T programmable connectivity. Working with Oracle to integrate IoT connectivity and programmable APIs into Oracle industry applications provides businesses and organizations with tighter network and application integration, improving performance and reliability while eliminating integration requirements and separate contracting activities. This collaboration is undoubtedly co-creation at its finest.
